Not everybody who updates a school website needs to be an Administrator.
PrimarySites provides dedicated access levels for School Office staff and Teachers, allowing you to decide who can do what.
Office staff can be given access to the day-to-day management features of the website, while teachers can have a much simpler area dedicated to adding their own news, photographs and other approved content.
This means staff can contribute to the website without being given unnecessary access to important website settings.
A Simple Dashboard for Teachers
Teachers don't need to learn coding and design.
When a teacher logs in, they see a simplified administration area containing only the features available to them.
They can add school or classroom news, upload photographs and manage their own content without having access to pages, website settings or other teachers' content.
The website's design tools are also protected, helping prevent a member of staff from accidentally changing or damaging the layout of the website while simply trying to post an update.
Assign Teachers to Their Own Classes
Schools can optionally assign individual teachers to specific news categories or classes.
For example, a Junior Infants teacher could be given access only to Junior Infants News, while another teacher might be assigned to 5th Class.
When they create a post, only the categories assigned to them are available.
Schools that don't need this level of control don't have to use it - teachers can simply continue posting normally.
Optional Teacher Post Approval
Every school works differently.
Some principals are happy for teachers to publish their own updates, while others would prefer to review them first.
The PrimarySites dashboard supports both.
Schools can allow teacher posts to be published normally or introduce an approval process, allowing authorised Office or Administration staff to review teacher content before it appears publicly on the website.
This gives schools additional oversight without making the process difficult for teachers.
Teachers Manage Their Own Content
Teachers can work independently without interfering with each other.
A teacher can manage the news posts and media available to their account while access to content belonging to other teachers remains restricted.
This makes it practical to give multiple teachers access to the website without turning every teacher into a website Administrator.
